Do you know who Mannert L Abele was?

In reference to the previous post, the USS Grunion was skippered by Commander Mannert L Abele. When the Grunion was lost, the US Navy named a destroyer after him. The USS Mannert L Abele has the distinction of being the first ship to be sunk by the secret Japanese suicide rocket plane, known as Okha by the Japanese and the Baka by the Americans.
